Minerva Publishing House was founded in Jerusalem in 2003. It specializes in developing and publishing books, dictionaries, phrasebooks, and study aids for Middle Eastern languages (Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, and Aramaic), as well as materials focusing on popular Arab culture. Several of their titles are published in collaboration with the Jewish-Arab Center at Givat Haviva. In 2009, Minerva acquired Keset Publishing, which was then merged into the company.
Minerva bases its educational textbooks on authentic field recordings, maintaining an extensive audio archive that contains thousands of hours of material. This archive also preserves recordings from the private collections of Yohanan Elihai, Yoram Miron, and Zvi Etkin, who are notable teachers and researchers of spoken Arabic.
